Twiddling thumbs

Twiddling thumbs One of those weeks really. Managed a couple of runs, but nothing special. Each of them ended up feeling sore and taking a lot longer for it to disappear. Work was busy so no lunch time escapes to the gym or sneaking out for a Yoga lesson. All desk driving and no play makes me a dull boy. And sleep wasn’t going as well as it could do.

So come Wednesday I decided it was time to sack the week off and have a proper rest doing nothing. Reckon I’ve probably picked up a small cold along the way which wasn’t helping with anything.

Amazing how quickly you .miss running. It’s a nice way to carve out an hour of time where there’s not much else to so apart from thinking about putting one foot in front of the other. If I’m on a empty track with noone around it’s close to mindful meditation§ for me. It’s just a nice break from all the usual thinking, planning and having to be on time that’s my normal day.

So now sat on the sofa on Saturday thinking it may be time to go and do a bit of yoga to limber up. Maybe a short trot around Attenborough or Beeston just to see how the legs are feeling. Still feeling tired, but a little 10km run around Attenborough Nature reserve tomorrow sounds like just the ticket to start a new week.
